Blogmas 3: DAY 25 (CHRISTMAS DAY)

PREAMBLE

The final day is upon us.

The 25th day has arrived.

Today’s post would have time stamps.

Let’s ride in….

5:24am

I am tired. The past few days have been hectic. Less sleep and good work done.

Cooking and cleaning

I woke up an hour ago to help with cooking. The ingredients needed had been prepared yesterday.

I am also trying to find a suitable dress to wear as I could not prepare anything special.

I thought I would make a dress before today.

Or dresses

I need a suitable dress for the church service.

I also thought I would make my hair before today.

I also thought that…..

Okay, summary is: I don’t have Christmas cloth and shoes and hair.

I am still trying to find a suitable dress, I have seen one but I am looking for an alternative.

I am yet to make Christmas cards and I hope to do that for today.

I hope to do a podcast as well. All, I have been unable to do.

15:08

A lot has happened in between these hours.

Alot

I did the podcast. I did a DIY hair. I got a dress.

There was a morning food prep before the service after having a family devotion.

Service was by 8:45am and we had completed the preparation before 8am which included a 45 minutes devotion

We arrived church and had a wonderful service.

The preacher compared the season surrounding the birth of Jesus to current happenings. The lessons of humility, simplicity and contentment. The preacher also encouraged us to reflect the life of Jesus and to trust God concerning any word He has spoken to us.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? (KJV)

The preacher encouraged us to know history as it solidifies our knowledge about events and their repitition even in our time.

After service was eating. We had food and drink in the church and merried together.

I stayed behind with some of my siblings to have a choir practice then we stayed to have personal singing practice.

I took pictures with loved ones and returned home.

I shared personal conversations with a loved one.

Opened my phone to recieve messages from friends and those on my contact list.

My favourite movie house released the third episode of their current series and I am pumped to watch it.

I will share all the goodies at the end of this post.

Meanwhile, I return to continue creating cards.

21:42

I had meaningful conversations with a close friend after promising to give a video call, which I did.

Had more chunks of fried meat, chin-chin, cake, drinks and soup in-between creating the cards.

Had more conversations with friends. Sent messages and connected with friends.

I published the podcast for today after creating a cover for it.

I created an email for those on my email listing with a different card made for them.

Had more chunks of meat

Had meaningful conversations with a loved one.

I will share an indirect summary of what we shared.

Ecclesiastes 3:10-11 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.He hath made every thing beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.(KJV)

God makes everything beautiful in His time.

If you allow His time to come

I will share the first post shared this year titled WHEN IS GOD’S TIME?

I thought I would watch the movie I mentioned earlier but I was unable to.

I will still make time to watch it

I will still share the link in today’s post.

A CARD FOR YOU TODAY

NOW TO YOU

What were your reflections today?

How has Christmas affected your life?

Did you spend the celebration with family, friends or alone?

Who is Jesus to you?

What package are you still expecting from God?

CONCLUSION

Today was interesting.

I was initially moody today but I thank God I shook it off and allowed myself to enjoy the moment.

I have tons of things to still do and I am trusting God to complete them before the year is over.

I really want to do them before the year runs out.

I do not want to miss anything needed to be in this post. However, I won’t pressure myself.

I am grateful to finally conclude this series.

I shared with you so many goodies to munch on. I could not not pictures of the meals I made with family as a way of beautifying today’s post but you can enjoy the extra contents shared today.

I know they are many. So enjoy!

I still have another card for you 😊

Thank you for being here.

Until next post stay safe and God bless.

BlogMas 3: Day 4

PREAMBLE

Today was all shades of interesting and of course I will share it with you.

Today is the fourth day of this year’s edition of Blogmas and I am grateful for the opportunity to share with you my daily experiences.

Okay….

Let’s ride in….

BITTERNESS IS A DISADVANTAGE

Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: (KJV)

Bitterness is built up from anger. It slowly grows until you can taste it in your mouth.

Gall. Bile

Yesterday, I mentioned apathy and empathy. Bitterness is apathy, hatred and a desire to revenge.

Bitterness is very consuming even though it may creep in unannounced.

Today, the Holy Spirit specifically said to my heart “Do not allow bitterness” and that set the tone for the rest of my day.

Obeying this word guided my day and added to the confirmation that when you walk with God in sincerity, and obedience even your weakness will become stepping stones for deeper experiences.

ASSISTANT

I did not expect to be part of a surgical team today but I did participate in a surgery.

Unlike previous times where I stood at the last place because many other heads were superior than me or there were enough heads to partake, today I was the sole assistant.

I had learnt a bulk of surgical instruments and today, that knowledge was multiplied.

An surgical outreach was organized and I thought I was only going to participate by doing peripheral activities, however an older doctor (who happens to be my father as well) gave me a srcub to join.

“I hope you can manage”

“Yes. It is not my first time”

True, it was not my first time of being in a surgical theater but it was my first time of actively participating during the surgery of which I did not expect.

After applying the surgical aseptic technique of cleaning my forarms and hands I wore the surgical gloves available.

Mind you, this was after I had been shown about three times on how to wear it, my instructor being very helpful and patient with me.

My instructor who happened to be a familiar person guided me through the mathematics of diluting local anasthesia, gave me a run down of the instruments we were going to use and then told me I was going to assist him.

From the beginning until the end of the surgery, he gently guided me, taught and asked me questions to test my level of understanding regarding the case. Then, he gave me opportunities to ask as well, which I did.

The clean incision made along the crease of the patient’s skin was sutured properly after we had completed the surgical procedure leaving a very fine scar which become difficult to notice after healing.

I was content with myself because I had recalled appropriately and was able to answer most of the questions I was asked. The knowledge which I had revised multiple times and often times still forgot or mixed up flowed out when I needed it even though I had not intentionally prepared for the surgery.

As someone who struggled with hemophobia from a young age until early adulthood, I am grateful for the progress I have made and today I was completely at ease without feeling nauseated or troubled through out the surgery.

This brings me to say that being ready is advantageous.

Be ready for what you are praying for

I have become more intentional about praying for the capacity and grace to be ready for the things I desire. It is one thing to pray for something, it is another to be ready for it.

Be ready with God’s word

Being ready with God’s word does not happen by accident. It is a result of internal deposition of the word of God over time.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (KJV)

To add to this part, I made vlog some months ago on a topic similar. Watch it below:

Kindly subscribe, like and comment after watching😊

ENJOY HEALTHY CONVERSATION

I internally thrive on healthy conversation.

It is a fuel for one of my love tanks

I love conversations than can be flexed from being very serious to being humourous to being creative and impactful.

Today was filles with such. Aside from the humour that filled the shared theater, I got to spend time with friends and family with whom I engaged in meaningful conversations with.

Shared theater: The outreach caused that. We shared the theater with other surgeons. My instructor and I used a corner while other surgeons used the other spaces.

After spending time on the outreach ground and having a hilarious journey back to the nearest place close to church, I made my way to choir practice.

ENJOY HAPPY PEOPLE

I love seeing happy people.

Another source for one of my love tanks

II love seeing expressive happy people because they serve as a motivation for me.

Choir practice was another place I shared in the joy and company of other people.

If you are a very happy and expressive person, there is a high chance than when I meet you, I will smile more whenever I see you.

That is me saying your presence makes me happy without you trying so hard.

TOO BUSY TO ENJOY? Is a podcast I made months ago with a similar theme.

NOW TO YOU

Do you recall easily?

What fills your love tank?

What kind of conversations do you enjoy more?

Are you ready for what you have been praying for?

CONCLUSION

I recently passed a medical exam that would give me the opportunity to expand as a medical doctor. If you have been following this blog, I graduated from medical school on March 2021. I am not yet a specialist in any field and I still have the opportunity to explore many options before settling for one.

Obeying an instruction given by the Holy Spirit can change the trajectory of your day, week, month and year.

I pray you listen and obey.

Thank you for being here. Until the 5th day of this series, stay safe and God bless.

30 Days of Intentionally Seeking God: Day 22

Preamble

8 days until 30 days is complete.

Today’s topic came when I went to get my daily bananas plus it derives some inspirations from a conversation I had with my mother (lovely woman).

Lets ride in.

Free things are not always free

I love bananas and buy them almost every day. In recent times, I have been exercising self-control in my routine banana buying. Because of my consistent banana buying habit, the fruit sellers close to my home have identified me with it.

They have the confidence that my presence means bananas would be bought.

On two occassions, including today, the fruit sellers tried to given me overripe fruits for free.

He did not have the quantity I desired and had some leftovers which he tried to give me. This is not the first time he has done this.

However, I…..

Not every free thing is thing.

Sometimes, it is a return of favour which the person felt oberwhelmed by or uncomfortable with.

Sometimes, it is out of pity.

Sometimes, it is because there is an ulterior motive.

Why the free thing?

When a person gives you something for free, how confident are you that no string is attached?

“It’s nothing”

Yet you are roped into committments you are not interested in or forced to repay favours by any means possible.

“Have you forgotten I did this for you?”

Most of us are excited when we are presented with free offers but do we take time to check the source of what we are recieving?

Why is it free?

A person you do not have a close relationship with tries too hard to impress you with things. You receive without knowing the intentions or purpose and wonder why you are being bothered later on.

You received something

In sincere relationships, things are an addition not the center. When things become the center, it is unlikely that sincere emotions are involved.

Do not be cheap

In our current time, depending on who a person is, their presence may demand too many attention or nothing.

Some people’s presence demands money and this too are in different grades.

Therefore, these sets of people are treated carefully because of the cost of their presence.

Do not present yourself cheap even if you are not rich.

Back to the banana story. I rejected them. I did this even in previous times when I was given such fruits.

This same man often gave me extras whenever I bought a lot but when I realised he was trying to give me rotten fruits, I plainly rejected.

You can reject cheap things

Things that are too good to be true with a meaningful source are often dangerilous baits to ruin lives.

My reasons for rejecting the fruits:

  • I did not plan to buy over ripe almost rotten fruits. It was not my plan.
  • If I started collecting them, it was possibly not going to stop.
  • I did not need them.

As I looked at the fruits, I could feel a sense of worth in them.

Why give me these rotten fruits?

I rejected them and will still reject them.

Don’t give yourself cheap

You give yourself cheap when you do not know your worth or when your worth means nothing much to you.

Like Esau who sold his birthright for a bowl of lentil soup

Be careful of what you are receiving

What are you receiving and why?

Ask questions, it saves.

Do not receive into your bossom what will sting you to your end.

In the conversations I shared with mother she narrated personal situations of having to refuse certain things because she was not peace with the situation on ground. She was not concerned about the contents of what was given but rather the sincerity in the giving.

I am in many ways like my mother

What are you receiving and from whom?

There are many people who share the word of God on different platforms. Internet has made many things accessible but it has also opened the door for the infiltration of contaminating messages.

We are to remain alert and always sift what we come in contact with.

When a person’s life does not translate what they preach or teach on the pulpit, do not spend time listening to them.

My mother (I paraphrased her)

Spiritual Influence

We are influenced spiritually by the people we receive from whether actively or passively.

If we do not pay attention to who we receive from spiritually, it is most likely that we would be affected by what affects them.

Why do some people preach love yet the people who listen to them find it hard to practice love? Why do some people preach holiness yet the people who listen to them find it hard to practice holiness? (My mother in our conversation)

Her reply was:

Because some of them are not practicing what they preach. So instead it is their negative influence that affect those they talk to. (I paraphrased her)

The Free Gift from God

Salvation is God’s free gift.

The basic requirement needed is:

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (KJV)

God’s free gift to mankind is SALVATION.

Salvation is free, not worked for and is recieved with the mouth and heart.

………

I will share this link again: FINDING GOD

Prayer

LORD, thank you for today. Thank you for everything. LORD, please help me recieve your gift. Help me to cherish your gift to me. Help me to appreciate my worth. Help me to discern what to do, where to be and who to pay attention to. Help me not to be blinded by what I see but be led by the Holy Spirit even when it appears good to my eyes. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Conclusion

More should be added to this post but I should leave it until another time.

I have repeated the link to Finding God and I did that for those who are yet to check it and are new to this blog. It adds volume to the direction this post went.

Your comments are welcomed.

Kindly share to others.

Stay safe and God bless.
