Main Guest

This lady is one that I respect and love. A humble person who is respectful of people around her regardless of their age or position. I have known her for more than 8 years and I am grateful for the moments we share.

She is a Pharmacist by profession and has her own blog which I will share.

Eunice

Eunice Adesote

People followed Him for different reasons, trailing Him almost everywhere. In fact, not all were fond of Him in any way.

So after an initial ‘natural’ trimming, about seventy people identified themselves with Him besides the constant huge crowd.

One day, as He began to talk a bit deeper about the reality of His purpose, majority of the now group of seventy were offended by His words and decided that they were better off pursuing other interests.

But some stayed. The twelve.

To be certain none stayed back against their own will, He asked them the question, ‘will you also go away?’ This was ‘follower-ship’ was set for an unfamiliar course.

If at any time they had had second thoughts about following this Jesus, this was an opportunity to reconsider and walk away.

To this question came the reply that will be the crust of our discussion in the next paragraph, “To whom shall we go? You alone have the words of eternal life” (John 6:32-66).

At some point in our journey, we should be resolute enough to envision the kind of life we want to live and be courageous enough to choose who or what would be our blueprint and to what extent.

Where possible, we should be clear how this privilege would be earned and flexible enough to use the eraser when necessary.

This is no easy task neither is getting to such moments-of-truth. It is true that we may not have had any say in the selection of people and/or events that may have now left permanent brushstrokes on our lives.

As deeply as that hurts to recall, we are here now – we survived and that is all that matters in this hour. And we are not alone. More people than we can count have been so affected even if not everyone is talking about it.

Let’s celebrate our survival and take ownership for US from this moment on. No one should have the right to influence US without our permission.

Just because a figure is a strong influencer does not earn them the right to change our mould.

The days of ignorance God has overlooked but now He calls on all men to repent. That right is ours now.

It is also true that for some, it may require years of unlearning and realignment to break certain ties but let the past remain in the past.

Frankly, this does not come spontaneously. It can take years and often times external help, but we can pull through. That we made it to this point is an indication that we have not seen the last of us yet. It is tough, I know but we are doing this for US – it is our gift to the US that is about to be reborn.

Think of it this way: if we have left our old country, how can we still live at our old address there? Rise up and get going! A generation is waiting for our rising.

I realized that some of the most profound messages in life are the unscripted day-to-day lives of people who are just going about their business.

Well, there is news: we have people watching; the generation waiting for us is here already.

They are the visible and invincible spectators watching our unboxing. To them, we are the heroes they hope to become someday. They perceive we are coming from somewhere even though they have no idea where.

This group of spectators are watching and learning from us as we transform our scars into masterpieces of art or their worst nightmare.

And why should we care? After all someone gave us these scars caring little about our wellbeing. Someone did not come through when they should and we were broken in the midst of it all.

But we survived – you and I survived.

Should we now create another cycle of thoughtless scars or show the world what good actually looks like?

Should we perpetuate the cycle or end the hurt?

Let’s be the example we wish we had even if no one seems to be watching.

We have the potential to be an improvement over the help we received no matter how little it was.

Be the living epistle for this watching generation that good can and will always triumph over evil.

It may not become all perfect just yet but when we take our bow, let’s do that knowing that we lived out the good example we wish we had.

Ending Note

One of my days in school, I heard my classmate humming a song by Sinach: I know who I am. Then the person proceeded to play the song and sing along. I was surprised because the person is not a Christian. However, noticing this made me smile, without knowing who she was listening to (most probably), the song spoke volumes to her.

It is powerful how much influence we can have on others without knowing.

It is powerful how other affect us and we follow suite without even paying much attention.

When I realised that I influenced others without forcing them to do things which I did, I became more intentional in my actions.

The truth is that we influence people who may never let us know that our lives hvae such effect on them, however it is our responsibility to make sure that our actions are appropriately intentional.

God has given each of us an assignment and these assignments come with an amount of influence (big or small). What God requires is that whether our crowd is big or small, we are consistent in shining our light (His light in us).

Our presence in the earth is intentional by God and we should live as such.

We add taste to the earth and to other people’s lives.

Ending Verse

Matthew 5:13-16 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (KJV)

When You Feel Used đŸšŽ

Preamble

Hello!

Welcome to another post here.

In today’s post, I am featuring two persons.

This is the first post in the history of this blog to feature another person aside myself 😂😂.

I had my imaginations on how I wanted to present this post but I am still grateful for the opportunity to still create it.

I hope you are blessed and encouraged as you read.

I appreciate my two guests for agreeing to participate and even share their pictures 😌🤗.

Let’s dive in 🏄

First Guest

Our first feature is one I love dearly and one with whom some of the podcasts I have shared on RoseCast were discussed with.

Before, I say more, let me give space to she.

Ezi

Me: Please can you introduce yourself?

Ezi: My name is Agwu Ezinwanne Mary aka ezilovely.

Me: Can you describe yourself in 4 words?

Ezi: I’m a jovial and friendly person, principled, lover of the church and Christ Jesus.

Me: Can you briefly explain what it means to feel used?

Ezi: It means to be taken for granted and taken advantaged of without any sincere interest in the person as an individual. It involves taking advntage of a person’s weakness, sincerity, good heart or friendship for the sake of a selfish goal. (paraphrased)

Me: I will share you questions which you will answer.

Ezi: Okay.

Questions
  1. Have you ever felt used before?
  2. How did you realize it?
  3. How did you respond at first?
  4. How did it affect you?
  5. Did you learn any lesson from the experience?
  6. What different thing will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation?
  7. Do you think God allows some of these situations or we are the ones responsible for them happening?
  8. Is it any way appropriate to use someone for personal interest even if the person does not protest?
  9. What advice will you give to anyone who feels used?
  10. What words will you share with those who use others?
Answer

1) Yes

2) After I’ve been used.

3) Shocked, sad.

4) Affected my self esteem.

5) Yes❗

6) Quickly address the issue and pull out.

7) Could be both ways. God allowed the people of Israel to have their way with Jesus, also in the case of Hosea. But being God who can turn around every situation at the end nothing spoils, just lessons learnt and God’s name glorified.

8) It is not appropriate. People are not meant to be used.

9) Learn form this experience, build yourself up, learn not to be too sentimental, learn to say NO, learn to walk way, know your worth. Read Psalms 142:4-7

Psalms 142:4-7 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.
Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me. (KJV)

10) You need help, you’re broken or simply wicked. Stop using people, learn to take humans seriously if you don’t have the energy to build genuine relationships never start one.

Me: Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate.

Ezi: Thank you too❤

Second Guest

Moving to the second person. My very supportive friend who shares Bible studies with me and tries to engage on as many posts as possible on this blog.

Without much words, I introduce you to he.

Williams

Me: Can you introduce yourself?

Williams: Williams Abiola Olusegun (full name)
HND Electrical Electronics Engineering (sokoto state Polytechnic)
I just like doing things differently (uniquely)..

Me: Can you describe yourself in four words?

Williams: Introvert with little traces on extrovert.

Me: Can you explain what it means to feel used?

Williams: Someone to feel used: This is can be in different situation but I will use the day to day human relationships. When someone decides to repeatedly do something good to another with the hope of getting something similar or more in return…But the desired results isn’t coming… that person will feel used… especially when the person at the receiving end keeps on accepting the good gesture. NB: that something/gesture can be gifts, money, love, care etc

Answers

1.YES

2.IT HAPPENED REPEATEDLY WITH DIFFERENT PERSONS.

3.I REALLY FELT BAD.

4.I SHOULD NOT TRUST TOO MUCH AND NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH.

5.IT ACTUALLY SHAPED ME FOR THE BETTER BECAUSE I REALISED THAT I SHOULD ONLY DO THINGS I KNOW I CAN DO AND EVEN IF I DONT GET SAME BACK I WONT FEEL TOO BAD.

6.TRY NOT TO EXPECT TOO MUCH AND IF WHAT AM DOING IS NOT NECESSARY I TAKE MY LEAVE.

7.I THINK GOD CAN ALLOW IT TO TEACH US LESSONS AND SOMETIMES WE ARE RESPONSIBLE (WHEN IT HAPPENS REPEATEDLY AND ONE STILL ALLOW IT TO CONTINUE)

8.NO BUT IN SOME CASES THERE IS A WAY ONE SHOULD LET THE OTHER KNOW ALL THE TERMS WELL.

9.TRY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO AVOID SUCH SITUATIONS.. IT CAN DAMAGE SOMEONE… IT LEADS TO DIFFERENT THINGS (LOW SEL ESTEEM,HATRED,SUICIDE, MURDER ETC)

10.PLEASE AND PLEASE DESIST FROM THIS ACT… YOU ARE DOING MORE DAMAGES THAN YOU CAN THINK.

Me: Thank you. I really appreciate your responses.

Williams: You welcome.

My response

I appreciate their responses and without adding much to what they said, I do believe that as much as we should have a meaningful purpose behind our relationships, we should treat people as human as possible.

Do not toy with other people’s feelings. Do not trample on their integrity and sincerity.

If you have made it a habit, this post encourages and warns you to stop.

If you are not aware if you do such, read this post again to pick out points that may indicate that you do.

And if you have felt used before, this post is a reminder not to allow such experiences to define your worth or cause you to stop being that humane and lovely person that you are.

Ending verse
Phillipians 2: 1-4 (AMP)

Therefore if there is any encouragement and comfort in Christ [as there certainly is in abundance], if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship [that we share] in the Spirit, if [there is] any [great depth of] affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same [a]love [toward one another], knit together in spirit, intent on one purpose [and living a life that reflects your faith and spreads the gospel—the good news regarding salvation through faith in Christ]. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Your thoughts are welcomed below in the comment sections and if you wish to reply to any of the questions, you are welcomed.

Until next post. God bless.
