Experiencing Art outside

Preamble

Cavewoman was concluded recently (check previous post) and in this post, I will be sharing highlights from the art galleries I visited while making the documentary.

Location

Khartoum, Sudan.

Specifically Khartoum 2

I will share the specific location for each of the galleries in case you wish to visit.

Mojo Gallery

This gallery is small in size but filled with multiple artworks on different surfaces. They range from descriptive art to abstracts.

I was impressed with their warmness and the accessibility to the artworks.

There are art prints to purchase and sculpted works too.

I met an artist who came to display her artwork. She was super friendly and gave her contribution on how I could get supplies.

The curators in the gallery were encouraging too.

They have a percentage they collect for artworks they display and the possibility of having your artwork displayed depends on quality of media and surface and thier interest in the supposed artwork.

I love these collections

Shams Gallery

I laughed more in this place. They were super warm. I met one of the main painters (I forgot his name, my bad 😳). He told me that he travelled to Lagos, Nigeria for an art exhibition. He along with two others were the only ones selected for the program. He said he loves Lagos and would love to visit again. I met him while he was painting and asked few questions which were answered.

With him was another who was probably just a guide in the gallery.

I also met the one who frames the pictures and his English was very good and it was easy communicating with him.

I showed them my artwork (Affection) and they commended and encouraged me to keep practicing. I also got directions to the art store where I could get better and cheaper supplies.

End note

There should be more galleries but these are the ones I visited in the process of creating the last series.

I felt inspired and encouraged after checking these places and even though I felt sad for finding them in the last period of my stay in this location, I am grateful to have still viewed them.

You can visit my art gallery via the ART page 😊.

You are welcomed to view anytime.

Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (KJV)

CAVEWOMAN 4

EVOLUTION OF A SOLITARY BEING

DIscovery

But you see, a cavewoman has a limit. There comes a time when she realizes that there is more to the cave she has always known.

There is more to discover.

There comes a time when she knows she should explore.

A time when she should give herself the opportunity to grow.

At this moment, cavewoman realizes that in order to grow she has to let go of her cave.

It is called putting off the old to embrace the new.

As God is doing new things, we need to embrace them as they happen. If we refuse to recieve these changes in our loves then growth is evitable.

God is doing new things, are we ready to receive?

Am I ready to receive?

Isaiah 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.(KJV)

Have you recognised the things God is doing in your life? The new things?

With discovery comes the need for balance. Weakness is exposed and a call to draw from God’s strenght is paramount.

In this my journey, I am learning that there is more.

God is willing to give me more. God is the one who gives without measure. He blesses abundantly.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (KJV)

As I discover myself through the eyes of God, I am brought closer to the truth that I need God to survive.

As God continues to reveal myself to me, I am made aware of how much I need Him in my life.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.(KJV)

It is important to note that discovery is not dependent on self but on the revelation of God’s word to us.

Philippians 3:10 That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;(KJV)

How has your journey been so far?

Making mistakes?

Falling down?

God is able to keep us until the perfect day only if we allow Him guide us rightly.

It always starts with a decision.

This series would be concluded with a documentary that was made during the process of creating the topics.

As already mentioned from the first part, the process involved DISCOVERY which are the 20 art pieces that were created along the line. To view the remaining that were not shared, check onyirose12.

I hope it blessed you. If it did, kindly share to another person.

See you in the documentary..

CAVEWOMAN 3

Evolution of a solitary being

Regrets

And because she refuses to grow, she experiences regrets she should not experience.

The things she should have done.

The places she have gone.

The people she should have shown her affection to.

The people she should have allowed to go.

The people she should have given a chance.

All these boil down to Memories that are bitter sweet with what ifs……

Regrets are bred from longings that were not fullfiled either because of an internal or an external factor.

I hate regrets but because of the factors I have already mentioned, I have had to face regrets as a consequence of actions.

It is one thing to wish, it is another for the wish to be fulfilled.

A wish becomes a regret if left unfulfilled.

God fulfills His promises.

He will come true. It is not just a wish with God, it is a promise.

Proverbs 23:18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.(KJV)

With God there is certainty .

This is something God has been teaching me. With Him, I am certain of my future.

Psalms 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.(KJV)

And I will add this song…

You don't have to worry
And don't you be afraid
Joy comes in the morning
Trouble may not last always
For there's a friend in Jesus
Who will wipe your tears away
And if your heart is broken
Just lift your voice and say
I know that I can make it
I know that I can stand
No matter what may come my way
My life is in your hands

As life progresses, avoiding regrets may be hard but it is possible to reduce its incidence.

Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can a live a life that is led by God.

And a life led by God is not governed by regrets.

How are you coping with regrets?

I hope to see you in the next part.

CAVEWOMAN 2

evolution of a solitary being

Limitation

The place you find the most comfort in may be the reason you are not growing.

For the cavewoman, her emotions and the state of remaining hidden are reasons she uses to refuse growth.

Every scar incurred gives her more reasons to remain stunted because the larger the scar, the deeper she recedes inwards.

The more hurt her emotions are, the more she hides away.

But the cavewoman does not know the more she recedes, the more her light dims..

This limited mind causes cavew(hu)man to limit not only herself but her environment and God’s work in her life.

It is easy for her to think that she cannot do it.

For her to think that she would be rejected; that she would never be accepted

Why try? It would be no

The cave, the shell which is supposed to protect her is also the reason she is limited.

The fear of trying is a horrible type of fear. It is so limiting that it traps its victims within a cage of impossibilities.

Often times a catalyst is needed to progress and if no catalyst arises then the cavewoman remains in a position without moving.

At least a snail moves

Have you identified your limitations?

If it is not a cave, what is it?

A cage?

God is the God of impossibilities.

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: (KJV)

He works in ways we cannot understand. His ways are higher than ours…

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (KJV)

God creates ways where is no way. He makes water flow in desert.

Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.(KJV)

Impossibility is a word that man created. It is not a language that God speaks. God speaks possibilities because that is what He does.

He makes things possible

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.(KJV)

As this series continues, I want you to realize that one of the major reason you have not grown lies in you.

I am learning this hard truth and rather than blame my environment or people, I am looking inward first and realising that the main reason I have not grown is because I limited myself, my enviroment and God.

I am learning……

Are you better than me in this area? Please share some words in the comment section that can serve as a good healthy advice.

CAVEWOMAN.

Evolution of a solitary being………

Evolution is the process of evolving. It is the process of transformation.

Arts used in this series are part of DISCOVERY a project I started in August on Instagram. A collection of abstract arts with different titles despicting my thoughts on certain matters.

Some of them would be shared here, and the rest can be found on instagram via my profile onyirose12.

This series will be concluded with a documentary that would be shared here via Youtube.

Hoping to have you watch it then.

MEANING

A cavewoman is one who has lived in a shell of personality for as long she has known.

She is defined by emotions and remaining hidden.

Emotions

Emotions differ and unless a person is apathic, our emotions depend on triggering factors, good or bad.

She is one who has allowed her emotions control her perception and though her emotions are not always wrong, they have not always been reliable.

For some of us, we are able to let go of emotions and do what needs to be done.

In summary your emotions rarely sway you.

For some of us, our emotions tug at us with ferociousity until we either win or yield.

It is a consistent struggle to either yield to what we are feeling or do what needs to be done.

The thoughts often move like this:

What would the person think?

How would the other person feel?

What would happen afterwards?

How would I deal with this situation in the best way possible?

Did I do well enough?

Did I do bad?

What perception has been registered about me?

How do I coordinate myself in such a way that I do not loose myself in the process?

These thoughts are constant in almost every relationship that the cavewoman experiences.

They are the dilemma that swirl teasingly no matter hard they tried to be ignored

Noticing the tiniest expressions, the movement of the hands, the sigh of the lips, the tone in the voice, the response to questions, all of these details and more are often observed most times without sharing but analzying within.

The desire to keep emotions at the right place is a consistent concern for the cavewoman and hence her response to the outside is often an irony.

If she tells you everything she observed yet refused to say, it would be a surprise.

The muddling of emotions but the concern of perception may make the cavewoman share her emotions in a muddled way.

It often comes out differently than what you may expect.

If you are not willing to know why. You won't.

Remaining hidden

You won’t know unless she lets you know

Unless you know her

Unless she allows you to know her

This ability to keep within and letting those who have proven to be safe inside is one of the important characteristics of the cavewoman.

It doesn’t matter what you do, if you are not deemed safe, the barrier is set for you.

🏗

If you desire to know the cavewoman, then you need to be safe.

Safe

Being safe depends on what she deems as safe.

Safety first

Remaining hidden also involves the beauty of controlling noise in the enviroment. When unable to control noise, it can trigger and set her ablaze.

However, in life there are many things that we cannot always control.

Many

Cavewoman or Cavew(hu)man

I am one used to solitude. It affords me the opportunity to filter my thoughts, my relationships and create a balance on my decisions.

This does not mean that I do not value human relationship, communication or even company.

I do.

I do a lot.

A lot

Recently, I have been researching more and discovered certain things that have explained certain things.

The truth is that nobody can fully discover themselves or another person. The only who has that ability is God.

He searches the heart.

If you have never taken a personality test especially the one made by Meyer and Briggs, I encourage you to do so. I have taken it more than five times and got the same result.

The result explained many things, and described me very well.

Amazing right?

And then I also took another test and it confirmed many other things.

Well, I know some people may think that the tests are unreliable. However, if they describe you better than another human has done before, I do not think there is a harm analyzing it.

Discovering yourself helps you understand why you respond to certain things.

Why certain relationships are more important to you and others are not.

Why you have certain values and why they are important to you.

Why you have the goal you have and why you are willing to achieve it.

It allows you understand why certain things have happened the way they did and why you responded that way.

As I continue in my journey of discovering who God has made me to be, I am willing to let go of things that have not allowed me to grow.

It also a journey of coming to a place of honesty with myself and the ways I have interacted with humans in the world.

This interaction is not only physical but includes the dilemma I have had to face when presenting myself.

The conflict I have had to face because I allowed certain notions grow in my mind and thus created internal environments that did not allow me be completely sincere and honest with myself.

In order to appreciate what God has been doing, I have to accept the corrections He has been giving and forgive myself and allow myself to heal from wounds inflicted by others and myself.

In this journey, I am learning that I will lose hope if I do not hang unto God.

God has been the best anchor and would always be. Amen

This process of evolution I am going through is because God started it and He will finish it.

Psalms 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (King James Version)

If you were wondering the results of the test, here they are:

INFJ and a HSP

I mentioned HSP alot, it means a highly sensitive person. As much as labels are not my thing, understanding your personality helps you interact with your society, yourself and do better.

With the Holy Spirit helping me, I am able to allow my weakness and strength be submitted to God’s will. Amen.

Some of the topics I have shared appear repeated. This is not because I do not have topics to share, but because there is always more no matter how many times it has been shared.

This is way of exploring the diversity I am experiencing as they happen and also affords you, the reader the opportunity to experience it too.

See you in the next part of this series.

If you are undergoing evolution, how is it?

Still…
