30 Days of Intentionally Seeking God: Day 20

Preamble

Welcome (me in an excited voice)

Toady is day 20 and that means this series has only 10 days left.

I am so grateful.

Thank you for being here.

Let’s ride in…

Do not explode

Have you seen the caution written on inflammable products?

Do not put near fire. Easily inflammable

Do not puncture. Easily inflammable

(I paraphrased)

If you want to see if the caution is correct, you only need to disobey the instructions. Whatever happens to you is your fault.

In one of the days in this series, I mentioned that faith is not numbing our emotions but trusting God despite them. However, many of us have come to accept that being a Christian is being pretentious about our feelings.

You lie that you are not offended while deep down in your heart and subconscious, you have torn the person into pieces.

You lie that you are not jealous yet you seek to covet someone else’s property or source of happiness.

You lie that you do not fear yet you suspect every move someone makes.

You are deceiving yourself

I used to be an angry person and part of it was because I was unable to express myself well. It was either I was shut off or my extra carefulness stopped me. The end results were always horrible outbursts.

I loved and still love to clear misunderstandings but it was always a problem of how to do it.

When I tried, it would backfire either by tormenting me by the outcome or through the person I had participated in the process with.

Also, my ability to clear misunderstandings depended a lot on the level of comfortability.

That has not changed though

Let me return to the topic matter lest I talk about myself excessively.

Apologies

Explosion is a result of excessive pressure due to the presence of suitable triggering factors.

Do not explode due to triggering factors. When you pretend for too long you are building pressure for explosion.

Authentic

I recently asked a woman I admire about remaining honest without mixing feelings or appearing excessive.

Her reply was “Do not only be honest when you are offended or emotional. Be honest all the time. That way people will not attach your honesty to emotions”

Being an authentic person does not mean being mean and rude but it does not mean always keeping your reservations.

It is passing your mesage loud and clear and having it do the work.

What if being mean is helping me to do the work?

Being mean and authentic gets stressful over time.

Being blunt is not always wise.

Wisdom is needed to direct in being authentic.

Authenticity needs wisdom to get the job done well.

Do not be pretentious yet do not do not be authentic without wisdom.

If you are jealous, pray about it.

If you suspect someone, pray about it.

If you are angry, pray about it.

God will give you wisdom to navigate through any of the situations.

God will give you a word to guide you.

Many times we decide to cover up our sincere feelings, they end up exposing us.

So why pretend?

Personally, I flee temptations. If I sense that being around certain people triggers many unwanted feelings, I limit contact while I continue in prayer until I sense I am capable to maintain time with them.

Then I pray before I encounter them.

Nobody messing with my precious mind where Jesus lives…..

I do not want to be fake so I avoid but when I cannot avoid, I leave it to Jesus.

Jesus take the wheel….

Always be in tune with God. Do not lose the tune…

Melody in my heart…..

Explode!

Explode for Jesus.

Be ready and prepared for Jesus.

Be available.

Be where you should be.

God will use those that are ready.

Exploding for Jesus is also similar to the previous illustration used. It builds until it burst open.

However, this explosion only causes kingdom expansion.

It causes blooming to occur.

It brings healing and restoration.

It is only toxic to evil and harm

Like the cup in Psalm 23, you get filled until you overflow and everyone around you near and far are affected.

Good explosion

Philippians 1:9-11  And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. (KJV)

Prayer

LORD, thank you for today. Thank you for everything. I want to explode for you causing restoration and blooming to others. I do not want to explode in fits of rage, jealousy and hatred rather I want to be filled with your goodness. Help me to remain authentic in wisdom. I surrender my ways to you, help me to do it right. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Conclusion

I was not expecting this meditation but thank God I got to share it.

ARE YOU FAKE?🎭

Preamble

What is original?

How do you define original?

What is the true test for originality?

How do we quantify the values of originality?

I am not answerin….

Okay….

Let me try.

I believe to be original is to be the true representation of contents.

It is to be what you are.

If I were to define for non-living things, it is to be the real thing. The first created material not copied from another.

Making sense?

To be original is to be real

I think that was easier to write

A dilemma?

Why are we so perturbed about originality ?

More like: Why am I perturbed about originality?

The reason I will honestly give is that it helps me know how to interact.

Well, the world won’t spin your way

The truth is that when sincerity exists, it is easier to resolve conflict, protect interests and chose which side to remain or to refuse.

Without originality, deception is easy.

People are varietized

I am sorry, that word that is up there is not a real English word. I wanted to just add flavour to variety.

I have been learning hard to accept that people have values that are totally different from mine, and because of that, I should not expect them to value what I value but rather understand their values and know how I can play a role in their lives.

Did that make sense?

I am learning that the things I hold dear will not make sense to everyone neither would they be interested in practicing it.

But I often forget and it causes me worry

Background, priority, focus, agenda and purpose influence the values people hold dear, and that is something that will usually arise in interactions.

I still prefer……

Honesty.

I always say to the humans I interact with, that I prefer a person who sincerely expresses their discomfort about me than one who pretends and yet harbors offences.

I cannot avoid it though

I love to know where I stand. It helps me clear my thoughts.

In Proverbs 27:5-6, it says

Better is an open reprimand [of loving correction]
Than love that is hidden.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend [who corrects out of love and concern],
But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful [because they serve his hidden agenda].

Amplified Translation

Honestly, it may be hard to be honest but it is possible to be honest.

Not only in words but in actions.

It is what you do that qualifies what you say.

Therefore, after you must have interacted or shared with others and you are in the closure of your space do you ask yourself if you meant what you said?

Did you share because you thought it felt suitable?

Or because you wanted to belong?

Or because……..

It is okay if you do not always have something to share 🤗

Recently, I have become more intentional of my words and actions. I want them to rhyme. I want to be sincere with myself, then others.

My thoughts ruminate on: if I over did it or if I was sincere.

I have learnt that sometimes, my silence is better and safer 🙂.

Sometimes we are insincere because we have agendas that we must achieve and do not mind using the route of insincerity to achieve it.

Tautology?

If you chose that part, you are not guaranteed insurance from the consequences.

I do not believe in karma. I believe in sowing and reaping.

Some Art

I often turn to art when I am in deep thoughts or overwhelmed. Depending on the one I am most inspired to do, I do.

It helps me relieve the overflow of thoughts. More like therapy 😊

I am not a professional, I just loving putting shapes, colours, lines or anything that I feel fits to become something I appreciate as art.

I love creating abstract art because it helps me fully expreses my emotions and thoughts. For me, it has no boundaries to expression.
