30 Days of Intentionally Seeking God: Day 26

Preamble

4 days left

Today has been….

But the series continues.

God’s work continues.

Lets ride in…

Burn

This word signifies that fire is present.

Fire burns. That is what it does.

Fire is hot.

Fire is beautiful but fire hurts.

Fire chars

Burn is a result of the contact between fire and another lighter substance.

The consuming fire

This is the fire that completely finishes whatever it is in its path.

This does not only burn but it erases.

This means that this fire should not be joked with.

Elijah in his face off with the prophets of baal, said “The God that answers by fire will be God” 1Kings 18:24-38

God’s response was to express Himself as consuming fire.

This fire responds to sin.

The presence of God consumes sin. Because God and sin cannot remain in the same environment (our body), when God is given the permission to be in charge, He consumes up the strings of sin in your life.

But…..

God as a consuming fire is also a warning signal. This means that we should not toy with God.

God is not a joke. Forget what many people are doing

God as much as He is kind is holy and just.

Continuing from Day 25, God does not vibe with sin.

Therefore understanding that God consumes sin, helps us to appreciate His holiness.

Do not forget that fire burns

Stop deceiving yourself 3

This has become a sub series

I told you not to deceive yourself twice. Now it is thrice.

Do not ignore

I also share here that fire burns.

Do not ignore

God is a consuming fire.

Con-suming. Con-su-ming.

Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:(KJV)

As much as we should relate with God on a platform of a Father-child relationship. Lover-friend relationship.

We also need to relate with God on a Maker-created platform.

God is not like the humans you get so used to that you disrespect

In Nigerian pidgin-that you rena

You cannot get too used to God. You can only enjoy the diversity of who He is.

Do not deceive yourself into thinking that you now know God enough to disregard His word and do as you like.

God you already know. We have a unique relationship. Dont vex with me. We will talk later

God is not your mate….

Be careful of fire

You see, fire is important. Fire creates but it also destroys.

It depends on how it is used.

The fire of God creates. When we relate with God sincerely, His fire creates more expression of holiness in our lives.

The fire of God also helps us burn brightly and this process is towards fulfilling His will on earth.

God’s will needs His fire

As we burn, God uses us to cause others to experience God.

But if you are not in this category, then God’s fire will hurt you not create through you.

It will now become the fire that destroys

If you take God for a joke, your life will become a joke

O. R.A

Go and check history. King Nebuchadnezzar will gist you.

Be careful of fire.

Prayer

LORD, thank you for today. Thank you for my life. Father consume everything that hinders your will in my life. Help me to burn to create not to be destroyed. May I not be destroyed by your fire because of sin rather may it fuel me to do your will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Conclusion

Thank you for being here.

Today’s post theme was written earlier but I wrote it out later.

Today was one of the days I almost did not write the post for the day but I am grateful to God for grace and strength. I knew I could not ignore the words to be shared and as I wrote and listened to words shared by other children of God, I was ignited to continue, writing the post not out of compulsion and routine but out of inspiration.

Kindly share to others.

Stay safe and be blessed.

30 Days of Intentionally Seeking God: Day 25

Preamble

Welcome to day 25.

This means 5 days are left.

Thank God.

Today’s topic is a run off of yesterday.

Lets ride in…

Stop smelling

Have you met someone who has body odour?

It is not a pleasant expereince to be around them even when you want to be polite to them.

For some it is a body dysfunction with their sweat glands and others it is just as a result of dirtiness.

I sweat a lot and it produces an odour I find uncomfortable and even though others may not smell it easily, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by it.

How do I tackle it?

I bath regularly and use a deodorant. I have used Nivea deodorant for the last 10 years and it works. Whenever I use it, I do not smell that odour and I do not sweat excessively and even if I sweat, it smells nice.

Why are you smelling?

What makes you smell?

What makes you repulsive?

Why are your irritating to God?

You stink!

Your presence makes God close His eyes.

Your presence cause flies to appear.

Flies love you because you stink. Because you are their home

How can flies be your lovers?

When you pray, it becomes an abomination to God no more sweet incense.

God rejects your prayers even before you open your mouth.

God has to spray extra perfume after you leave His presence.

You think you are giving God incense but you are stinking.

Do you know why?

The reason you stink

You stink because you bathe with faeces. Your clothes are stained in faeces. Your feet are smeared with faeces and you live with faeces.

Everything about you is stinking.

How can you expect to smell nice when you are walking with faeces.

You stink because you love sin.

Sin is your best friend. Your companion. Your lover. Your comfort. Your everything.

You cannot even do without a sinful pleasure for one day.

You cannot even survive without it.

Sin is the spiritual faeces that stinks constantly.

Sin is repulsive to God

Sin is the reason you cannot relate with God.

Sin is the reason you cannot experience God.

The reason you feel stuffy and choked up is because you are in a place where your communication with God is hindered.

God wants to share with you but sin is preventing His expression in your life.

The things God hates

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (KJV)

God hates sin because it is the greatest factor that hinders His expression on earth.

If you decide to associate with God, sin cannot be your favourite thing to do.

1 John 3:7-10 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.(KJV)

If you are in Jesus, sin is not your lifestyle neither do you accomodate it.

You are disgusted by sin because it obstructs your relationship with God

In simple terms, sin makes you vomit. You do not want to be associated with sin.

This only happens as we draw close to God and behold His holiness. God in His holiness has no association with sin and as we become transformed into His likeness, we respond negatively to anything that will take us away from God’s presence.

Stop deceiving yourself part 2

If you claim to be a Christian,

If you claim to know Christ,

If you claim to have a relationship with God,

And you are living in sin, toying with it, pardoning it and enjoying it,

Then you have deceived yourself the most.

I feel for you

The worst deception is the one you do to yourself.

You cannot say you are in Christ and sin is your hobby.

Or you have deceived yourself into intentionally participating sins with beforehand preparation to ask for forgiveness.

God, we will discuss afterwards. I know you will forgive me

I laugh at you

Hahahah. You are preparing for a plane crash hoping that your parachute will save you forgetting that people are rarely saved by parachutes during a plane crash

I really feel sad for those who intentionally participate in sin and prepare forgiveness prayer as a backup.

You think you are a smart Christian

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? (KJV)

One day when you least expect you will be swallowed up.

It is not a prophecy

Ephesians 5:3-5  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (KJV)

I pity you more if nobody can tell you that you are deceiving yourself.

Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. (KJV)

Stop playing with your life.

Keep looking at Jesus

Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (KJV)

Fix your gaze on Jesus.

You’ll be alright

Prayer

LORD, I thank you for today. I thank you for everything. Help me to surrender sincerely. Help me to remain. Let me detest sin. Let me not experience seperation from you. Let my relationship with you blossom. Let it be full of life. Sin will no longer be my companion in Jesus name. Amen

Conclusion

This post was the earliest I ever started but it took almost the whole day to write it out.

Today’s post may appear harsh but it was specific and if you are among the group this post addresses do not ignore.

God is kind.

God is merciful.

And God is just.

Never forget that (talking to myself too)

Kindly share to others.

Stay safe and God bless.

30 Days of Intentionally Seeking God: Day 21

Preamble

Welcome to day 21.

9 days left.

Today’s post was inspired by conversations with three other believers: My mother, a senior friend and a brother.

As I asked God for what to share today, it dropped in my heart.

Lets ride in….

Spiritual burden

A burden is a load to bear.

A burden is a duty to observe.

A burden is a responsibility to fulfill.

A burden can be light or heavy depending on what it contains.

Spiritual burden is a responsibility of the spirit.

It is a calling to carry out a duty.

The Holy Spirit calls, you hear?

When God places a burden on your heart, it means He wants you to do something about it.

God never calls us for nothing.

Nehemiah, an Isrealite who was among those taken to Babylon worked in the king’s court as a cupbearer. He one day became burdened with the state of Jerusalem. It was in ruins for 70 years and had no meaningful structure around it. He became so burdened that his countenance fell. God granted him favour in the sight of the king and he was able to fulfill the burden. (The Book of Nehemiah in the Bible)

Prophets Daniel, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Isaiah had burdens, of which they were able to bring to fruition.

Revivals always occur as a result of burdens that were responded to.

For us to to do God’s work well, we need to yield to the burden He has placed on our hearts.

There is always a burden to bear. You can decide which.

There is a burden of sin which is guilt and a burden of the spirit which produces revival that transforms.

Which burden do you bear?

Capacity

God will give you the burden you can do something about.

When God laid the burden on Nehemiah’s heart, he was in a position to receive favour from the king. He had an easy access to the king and this was an advantage in fullfilling the burden.

Therefore, if a burden of the Holy Spirit is laid on your heart, it means that God already gave you the capacity for it.

Maybe your job, location, affluence, personality is the key to fulfilling that burden but God has certainly given you the capacity.

You only need to ask: LORD, what do I have? How can I achieve this? Show me what to do?

As you understand and accept that you have the capacity, God in His good pleasure will provide more help in form of other people to speedy up the process.

Nehemiah had access but he needed favour from the king which he needed at different points of the process.

What are you doing about it?

Complain?

Grumble?

Dismiss it?

Ignore it?

Pass it to someone else?

Respond to it?

Something always has to be done about burdens.

Burdens need action not talk alone

Jeremiah in:

Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name. But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.(KJV)

Understood what burdens felt like and he could not ignore.

When you choose to ignore a burden placed on your heart by the LORD, it means you have resisted for long, and when you resist for long, God will leave you alone.

When you yield to God and participate in what has been laid on your heart, you are contributing to the kingdom of heaven.

You are causing God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Make a choice

You cannot avoid bearing a burden but you can choose which you will bear.

The burden God gives to us leads us to produce bountiful harvest and be a blessing while the burden of sin and guilt leads to destruction.

Have you made a choice?

I link you to this post, if you haven’t seen it before: FINDING GOD

Prayer

LORD, thank you for today. Thank you for everything. Help me to yield to your will for my life. Help me to yield to your leading. I lay down my burdens to pick yours which leads to life. Help me to part of what you are doing. Let your will be done on earth though me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Conclusion

The conversations I had that inspired this post came in different forms, however the words that were shared in the course of them were tools God used to inspire this post.

What burden has God laid on your heart? What are you doing about it?

Your comments are welcomed.

Stay safe and God bless.

Blogmas 2: Day 12

Preamble

Today is exactly the 6th month since my birthday.

I meant that 6 months ago, I gained a year to my age.

Today has been a roller coaster…

Regardless of that, let’s dive in as usual…

Weakness

Weakness is the description of a flaw.

An area of your personality that is not strong.

That has a lot of holes. A single punch and the leak is exposed…..

One of my weakness which I have repeated multiple times on blog is my swinging mood.

It is like pendulum and sometimes it swings too fast. My innate ability to observe small details and focus on them can sometimes be a blessing and other times a trouble.

Interestingly small gestures and actions mean more to me

Small things give me an insight into big things.

And because of this beautiful swinging moments I accept that I sometimes make people uncomfortable when the swing is towards a poor mood.

Not intentional

I wish that most of the times, they would understand that it was not necessarily them but I was trying to process certain influx and moments within.

Because of these moments, I have had times when people asked me what was wrong with me, why was I angry, why was I extremely quiet, why was I not smiling (add all the question marks yourself)

I would confess that some of those times, I wanted to be alone but I couldn’t help it because I needed to be out

In summary, whenever I am moody, I prefer to be alone before contacting others lest I also ruin their mood.

However, it is the real life where I have to cope with mood swings and doing things.

But my mood swings have not been totally negative. They have been a source of arts and creativity. I have created so many things in moments I was moody.

Many of them have been shared in this blog. Many…

Also, God has been kind to me by using random people to encourage me and also by touching the hearts of those around me.

As I learn to interact more and express myself (this area of my life), others have been considerate of me and I appreciate.

They do so by leaving me alone and not pushing me away when I come back to engage with them.

More like ignoring me when I needed the space.

One question I asked myself today was:

Why was I not getting over it?

Why was I too observant of details that others could ignore?

Why did they bother me?

Why was my cheerful and ‘sweet’ side not always evident?

And then I realized that getting over certain flaws take time and sometimes some of those may never disappear, they remain as a reminder of how imperfect the human nature is and hence when I am tempted to feel better than another person, my flaw is a check on me.

Do we need flaws to treat others better?

No.

But because it is a reality, it is better to accept the presence of flaws first than to deny them.

Also, there are certain flaws God may not take away.

I still pray about my swings. Every day.

This reminds me of Paul’s words in

2 Corinthians 12:6-8. If I wanted to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be telling the truth. But I will not boast, because I do not want any of you to have a higher opinion of me than you have as a result of what you have seen me do and heard me say.
But to keep me from being puffed up with pride because of the many wonderful things I saw, I was given a painful physical ailment, which acts as Satan's messenger to beat me and keep me from being proud.Three times I prayed to the Lord about this and asked Him to take it away (GNT)

Then it is followed by

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.(KJV)

Are all flaws permissble?

The honest truth is that there are certain flaws that are not permissble. They go completely against what the word of God stands for. Participating in such activities intentionally is the same as intentional disobedience.

No defence

Asking God for forgiveness is the main step to take but continous participation is an outright disregard towards God.

Especially when a willful participation occurs and repentance occurs only when there is a public exposure

A simple summary is that certain flaws are loop holes to remain in sin which is far away from God’s desire for us.

Deciding to keep choosing sin is to disregard God.

Now to you?

What is a flaw to you?

……………
